My dog has a bad shedding problem, she is half dachshund and beagle any ideas on how to control it?

My sister's scottie mix was supposed to be a non-shed dog, but we have come to realize that is not the case since we find her hair every where. What has helped for us is a good bath, and leave in conditioner to calm her coat. While you have her in the tub take a brush and comb against the grain of the hair to help successfully remove the undercoat (the base layer of thier hair that tends to be the problem). Most people are unaware that there is more than one layer of hair on dogs, and only take care of the top hair. That is why the dog continues to shed. We also went out and bought her a little shirt to put on after she gets her bath to contain the hair that we may have missed. Since we started this, our home is gypsy hair free.My dog has a bad shedding problem, she is half dachshund and beagle any ideas on how to control it?
I believe Purina or Iam's makes a shed control formula of their food. If you don't want to spring a lot of extra for food, a trick of mine is to add a raw egg to the dog's food once a day. This, with many dogs, shines their coat and possibly can help with shedding. My dog has a bad shedding problem, she is half dachshund and beagle any ideas on how to control it?
Brush her daily to remove as much as possible. Bathing also helps but don't do it too often. Once a month is ok though for bathing as long as you don't use harsh shampoos. Use a natural, soothing dog shampoo like an oatmeal based shampoo.
Hate to say it, but buy a very good vaccume cleaner.. We have a basset/beagle and she sheds like crazy (she is almost completely white.) We have tried the shampoos, the grooming and nothing seems to work.
