Why do Democrats want to control medicare like it's a govt program?

I hope you're kidding. Medicare IS a government program -- and it's one Republicans fought hard to keep from ever becoming law.





Further, Republicans have tried to scare people about ';death panels'; which is nonsense that should be patently obvious to anyone who knows that Americans 65 and older will still be on Medicare, not on the Public Option (which doesn't have death panels either).

Last I looked Medicare is a government program. I don't want them taking on more health care because both Medicare %26amp; Medicaid are pretty much bankrupt. So it the postal service and most other government ran systems we have. What the hell makes them think that this will be any different?
