Is it normal not to have spotting after getting the birth control shot?

I got it two and a half weeks ago. I had sex 2 days after and i used the plan b pill. I've had sex 5 more times without anything. I havnt had any spotting or any side effects except increased appetite. I should be getting my period soon..should i be worried?Is it normal not to have spotting after getting the birth control shot?
Everyone is different, but I was on the shot for 9 months and I did not get my period at all. Some women get their periods the whole time while on the shot and some don't have it all.
